About the role

Provides professional care and assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. Provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with other health care team members.

Responsibilities

  • Performs assessments in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychological & cognitive status.
  • Formulates a goal directed plan of care which is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnosis & patient outcomes.
  • Implements care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent and continuous manner.
  • Establishes priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs and available resources.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of care given and patient progression toward outcomes.
  • Identifies patient's/significant other's learning needs and implements appropriate measures to meet them.
  • Captures and documents patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates interdisciplinary functions.
  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • State of CT RN license.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Minimum six months of current RN Psych/Behavioral Health Experience required.
  • Inpatient unit with coverage in the Behavioral Health unit in the emergency department as needed.
  • Hospital requires 32 control hours per week, rotating shifts from 11:00pm-7:30am, including weekends and holidays.
  • This position will be in the ED with cross training to inpatient floor.

Qualifications

  • Nursing certification preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Pay

$44.73 - $65.48 hourly

Schedule

Night shift: 11:00pm-7:30am, rotating weekends and holidays.
