Responsibilities

• Provide daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of residents.
• Perform professional assessments and documentation of resident health.
• Assist with management of assigned nursing units and staff.
• Participate in development and implementation of resident care plans.
• Maintain up-to-date nursing care plans, document progress, and recommend revisions (MDS) per facility policy.
• Make daily and periodic resident visits to monitor physical/mental condition.
• Perform routine nursing procedures while collaborating with physicians and families.
• Provide emotional support to residents and families; handle complaints, allegations, accidents, or incidents.
• Complete medical record documentation, 24‑hour reports, end‑of‑shift reports, shift narcotic counts, and document destruction of outdated/discontinued medications.
• Maintain up‑to‑date resident medical records.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Possess a valid RN license in good standing per State and Federal requirements.
• Thorough understanding of principles of safe, effective nursing practices in Indiana.
• Personal integrity and ability to deal tactfully with residents, families, visitors, government agencies, and other personnel.
• Ability to be discreet, protect confidential information, and comply with Corporate Compliance and HIPAA.
• Passion for caring for people.

Skills

• Basic computer knowledge and skills.
• Proficiency with personal computers, Word, and Excel.
• Experience working with office machines such as fax and copying machines.
