Registered Nurse (RN) Prep and Recovery (PAR) NEW

About the role

As a Prep and Recovery (PAR) RN at UP Health System - Marquette, you will provide patient assessments, education, procedural preparation, and post-procedure recovery care for Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology patients in a supportive, team-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and related medical care.
• Documents care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Displays initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building to support departments and staff.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
• Assesses learning needs; provides age- and culture-appropriate patient/family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education; works other shifts/units as needed and may take on-call assignments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Schedule

• Full-Time | 0.8 FTE or 64 hours/pp
• 8 x 8-hour Evening shifts, 1:00pm - 9:30pm
• 1 on-call weekend rotation every 6-8 weeks (Sat/Sun, 9a-5p)

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred)
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year

Pay
