Located in Belleville, Clara Maass Medical Center is a facility of RWJBarnabas Health and provides a complete continuum of care to residents of northern New Jersey. With over 700 physicians and 2,100 employees, the facility offers advanced treatment for a wide variety of medical conditions and includes centers for advanced wound care, sleep disorders, bariatrics, orthopedics, cardiac services, cancer care, emergency services, and more. In 2017, the Medical Center completed a state-of-the-art campus expansion featuring a new four-story 87,000 square foot building with a private, 32-bed Intensive Care Unit, new Main Entrance and Lobby, Retail Pharmacy, Patient Registration Area and newly expanded Emergency Department.

As a Registered Nurse, you will help advance patient care and strengthen the experience of individuals and families across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using judgment to intervene early and advocate for patients
  • Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
  • Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
  • Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
  • Contribute voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care
  • Take an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes
  • Pursue continued professional growth through access to continuing education, clinical ladder opportunities, and organizational resources that support long-term career progression

Requirements

  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement in good standing
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification
  • ACLS certification within six (6) months of hire
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred
  • Medical/Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing experience preferred
  • Certifications such as MEDSURG-BC (Medical-Surgical Nursing Board Certification), PCCN (Progressive Care Certified Nurse), or CMSRN (Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse) preferred
  • Comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC

Pay

$47.62 – $63.73 per hour (New Jersey). Compensation will depend on educational background, skills, and professional experience.

Schedule

7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m., every other weekend and holiday required. Weekly schedule varies depending on department needs.
