Job Overview
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Post Intensive Care Unit II at the New Brunswick campus.
Qualifications
- ASN or Nursing Diploma
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Preferred: BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire
- At least 2-3 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience
Certifications and Licenses
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
Schedule
- Night Shift, 7p-7:30a
- 2 shifts per month, plus one summer and one winter holiday
- Per Diem
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
- Assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
- Maintains a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others of the patient care team through communication and utilizing resource persons and programs available.
- Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
- Knowledgeable of the patient population served.
- Supervises and directs the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers.
- Consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
- Utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the plan of care to address specific patient needs.
