Registered Nurse (RN) - Per Diem - Community Hospice
Come experience the rewards of working in end-of-life care! The Community Hospice has a wonderful opportunity for a per diem RN to work as part of our Hospice Home Care Team caring for patients and families in the Albany/Rensselaer County region.
About the role
Availability needed for this per diem position would be during the week (Mon-Fri). Hours generally needed are 8a-4:30p. No weekends or holidays.
- National pre-taxed mileage reimbursement
- Meetings and charting conducted via supplied laptop
- Comprehensive orientation provided
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with an interdisciplinary team to develop a comprehensive plan of care to provide added support to patients and families in their homes
- Work closely with a team including Aides, LPNs, medical directors and NPs with specialized expertise in end-of-life care, social workers, chaplains, complementary therapists, and volunteers
Requirements
- A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York
- Associates Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- 1 year of experience as an RN, preferably in Hospice/Home Care or acute care
- Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle
- High level of interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers
- Understanding of Hospice principles preferred
Training provided in end-of-life care. Community Hospice provides a thorough orientation, preceptors, and a supportive work environment. We can arrange a time for you to shadow one of our preceptors.
Pay
Per Diem Rates based on monthly hours commitment.
Experienced Pay Range for non-per diem: $38.00-$50.18. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
