Registered Nurse (RN), Peds & Transport APN

About the role
This position will function as a Specialty Care Transport Unit (SCTU) RN on the Pediatric Transport Team as well as serve as a valuable resource throughout the institution, assisting with intra-hospital transport of pediatric patients, conscious sedations, IV placements, and other clinical tasks.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
- Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
- Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
- Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
- Contribute your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care

Requirements
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification (preferred)
- EMT License (preferred)
- 3–5 years of previous experience as a PICU RN or related experience
- Pediatric Transport experience (preferred)
- Associate’s degree in Nursing (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (strongly preferred)
- Prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC

Pay
The anticipated hourly wage range for this position is $47.85 - $71.72 per hour. The compensation offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
Schedule
- Evening Shift, 36 hours per week
- 3:00 PM – 3:30 AM with rotation
