Department Details
A 24-bed unit caring for children with various acute and chronic diagnoses. Services include general surgery, cardiology, oncology, endocrine, GI, neurology, neurosurgery, medical, infectious disease, and more. The unit has a sedation center, brain injury program, pediatric oncology program, pediatric trauma program, and specialized programs.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program (e.g., AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA)
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing
- Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications
Responsibilities
- Plans and coordinates patient care, assessment, education, triage, and various nursing interventions
- Collaborates with colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care
- Empathetically cares for patients during all stages of care
- Demonstrates competency and uses comprehensive nursing expertise
