Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
• Formulates an individualized plan of care, revises plan as indicated by the patient's response to treatment, and evaluates overall plan daily for effectiveness
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities
• Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, families, visitors, and staff
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition and circumstances
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient protecting the patient's rights

Requirements

• Current RN license in a VA or compact state
• Associate's degree in nursing
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support
• American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Qualifications

• Experience in acute care hospital preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and proficiency in computer systems.

Pay

Hourly Range: $33.19 - $44.81
