Registered Nurse (RN-PD) - Mother/Baby

Job Responsibility

• Affirms patients physiologic health status through assessments including gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal and neurological health status.
• Reviews patients chart, conducts patient interviews, explains policies and procedures, and answers questions.
• Identifies and assesses patients psychosocial health status, including perception of medical/nursing care, coping mechanisms, knowledge levels, and ability to comprehend.
• Collaborates with physicians and other health team members in coordinating and implementing procedures and treatments.
• Uses leadership skills and clinical judgment in coordinating patient care and directing/delegating activities of the patient care unit team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• Enrolled in an accredited program within 24 months of employment, if hired after September 1, 2010, and must obtain a BSN degree within five (5) years of employment date.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• BLS and ACLS certifications, preferred.
