Registered Nurse RN PCU GI Ortho Registry

About the role

Banner Boswell Ortho PCU is a combined acute care specialty unit serving both Progressive Care and Medical Surgical patients as part of our Progress in Place initiative. Nurses on this unit care for post-operative orthopedic patients and those undergoing gastrointestinal surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice.
• Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data, and the medical plan of care.
• Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel.
• Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed.
• Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members.
• Communicates the status of patients for whom care is provided to other caregivers.
• Participates in unit or facility shared leadership.
• Interacts and participates in the education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families and visitors.

Requirements

• Minimum of 18 months of RN work experience.
• Minimum of 12 months of recent work experience on a Progressive Care Unit (within the last year and a half).
• BLS and ACLS certification is required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Professional certification preferred.

Pay

• 18% night differential.
• $3/hour weekend differential when applicable.

Schedule

• Day shift openings, 7am - 7:30pm.
• Specific to this unit.
• 2 shifts per month minimum.
