Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU FT

Schedule: 12:00 PM – 9:30 PM, four days per week with some on-call requirements
About the role
Atrium Health Pineville PACU department cares for both inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures. PACU nurses are responsible for immediate post-operative care of surgical and some procedural patients in “phase I recovery care” and occasionally “phase II,” discharging patients leaving the facility. The unit has 21 individual patient care bays, access to two medication Omnicells, and a centralized nurse’s station. Teammates work closely with surgeons, anesthesia teams, and OR staff to deliver excellent care to patients.
Pineville Periop Services consistently has some of the top patient satisfaction scores in the greater Charlotte area and a high teammate retention rate. The unit offers a great culture with strong leadership support, including three clinical supervisors (one primarily focused on education) and a unit manager.
Responsibilities
As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will:
- Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and skilled communication to lead efforts in creating the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, advocate for patient needs, and uphold professional practice standards to promote optimal health outcomes.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Previous Critical Care, Emergency Department, or PACU experience strongly preferred.
