Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU FT

Status: Full time, benefits eligible

Schedule: 12:00 PM – 9:30 PM, four days per week with some on-call requirements

About the role

Atrium Health Pineville PACU department cares for both inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures. PACU nurses are responsible for immediate post-operative care of surgical and some procedural patients in “phase I recovery care” and occasionally “phase II,” discharging patients leaving the facility. The unit has 21 individual patient care bays, access to two medication Omnicells, and a centralized nurse’s station. Teammates work closely with surgeons, anesthesia teams, and OR staff to deliver excellent care to patients.

The unit offers a great culture with strong leadership support, including three clinical supervisors (one primarily focused on education) and a unit manager.

Responsibilities

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will:

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and skilled communication to lead efforts in creating the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, advocate for patient needs, and uphold professional practice standards to promote optimal health outcomes.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Previous Critical Care, Emergency Department, or PACU experience strongly preferred.
