Geisinger is offering a $21,500 hiring incentive and $7,500 in relocation funds for eligible candidates. The minimum hiring rate is $41.50, with increased rates for experienced individuals and up to $7 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards
  • Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuum of care
  • Formulate, coordinate, and provide plan of care as established in unit standards, including patient and family education, family needs, and discharge planning throughout hospitalization with members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Provide direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure
  • Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise plan of care based upon patient response to interventions
  • Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members to proactively resolve and facilitate patient needs
  • Problem solve, troubleshoot, and take corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment
  • Participate in unit-based decision-making regarding the utilization of evidence-based practice
  • Actively participate as a team member working toward team goals of the unit and organization and be accountable for unit and system-specific metrics
  • Actively participate in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities designed to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety

Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 0.9 FTE, 12-hour shifts
  • Shifts include D/E 5-17:30, 5:30-18:00, 6-18:30, 7-19:30, 9-21:30, 11-21:30
  • Some weekend and holiday shift requirements
  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)
  • Bachelor's Degree-Nursing (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience (Required)
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania
