Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardio Pulmonary Rehab

Overview

This full-time position involves providing phase II rehabilitation to Cardio Pulmonary outpatients at our Koke Mill location, with occasional care for Cardio Pulmonary inpatients at Springfield Memorial Hospital. The role includes developing personalized cardiac rehabilitation plans for patients over 3 months post-cardiac procedure, educating on diet and medication compliance, blood pressure management, and preventative measures during Phase I & II, and communicating with MDs and APRNs across multiple platforms.

The registered nurse is responsible for delegation, supervision, and provision of nursing care for a designated group of patients through utilization of the nursing process, providing age-appropriate care, and participating in research to incorporate findings into evidence-based clinical practice. The role also involves contributing to quality improvement processes and adhering to SMH Mission, Vision, and Values, the Nursing Division Mission, Vision, and Philosophy, the ANA Code of Ethics, and the Illinois Nursing Act.

Schedule

• Four 10-hour shifts per week: 6:00am - 4:30pm
• No weekends, holidays, or call shifts

Pay

• Starting rate: $28.25/hour
• Maximum rate: $45.21/hour

Responsibilities

• Develop personalized cardiac rehabilitation plans for patients over 3 months post-cardiac procedure.
• Educate patients on diet compliance, medication compliance, blood pressure management, and preventative measures during Phase I & II.
• Communicate with MDs and APRNs across multiple platforms.
• Delegate, supervise, and provide nursing care for a designated group of patients using the nursing process.
• Provide age-appropriate care and participate in research to incorporate findings into evidence-based clinical practice.

Requirements

• Licensed as RN in the State of Illinois.
• Current BLS/CPR certification per policy.
• ACLS certification within three months of hire.
• Previous hospital nursing experience is strongly preferred.

Skills

• Ability to position and/or transfer an average adult patient.
• Gross coordination sufficient to perform other patient care duties.
• Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing.
• Ability to perform difficult manipulative skills such as IV insertion and IM injections.
