About the Role
Ortho/Spine is a 32-bed unit specializing in orthopedic patients. The unit holds disease-specific certification from the Joint Commission in Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement, and Hip Fracture patients, designating it as a center of excellence. The team also cares for Total Shoulder and Ankle patients, other fractures, low-level cardiac patients, and some med-surg patients.
Responsibilities
- Systematically assess and reassess the healthcare needs of individuals, appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions, involving the patient, family, and other healthcare providers as needed.
- Analyze assessments to determine nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes, collaborating with the patient, family, and other healthcare providers.
- Provide nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs, using professional judgment guided by current evidence-based practice, regulations, and policy.
- Evaluate patient outcomes using critical thinking and evidence-based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts, and reach sound conclusions.
- Assess discharge needs related to the plan of care, utilizing available resources.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in the healthcare field preferred (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
- Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining required during orientation prior to providing patient care; BLS certification must be maintained throughout employment.
New graduates are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
Pay
Compensation ranges from $27.84 to $45.46 per hour, depending on previous work experience. Additional differentials include:
- $2.50/hr for evening shifts
- $3.00/hr for night shifts
- $3.00/hr for weekend shifts
