About the Role
AdventHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time night shift position in Orthopedics. This role involves extending the healing ministry of Christ while providing comprehensive, wholistic care to patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
- Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred)
- 1+ year in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)
- Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state
Skills
- Organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- Ability to work as a team player within a unit
- Effective verbal, oral, and written communication in English
- Problem-solving skills
- EKG competency (based on patient population)
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Windows-based programs
- High level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise plans of care according to patient outcomes
