Avera Tea Clinic Worker

About the role

The Avera Tea Clinic Worker is a regular position located in the United States of America. The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $41.25 per hour, with actual pay rate dependent upon experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in care to patients as directed by provider based on competency.
  • Provides accurate, completed, legible and timely documentation of all patient procedures in the medical record.
  • Maintains timely flow of patients.
  • Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
  • Responsible for assisting with patient and family education to include procedures, medication use, nutrition, disease processes, and maintenance of health and wellness, etc., based on competency.
  • Greets patients and conducts clinical interview collecting history and vital signs.
  • Labels and processes lab specimens according to lab procedures.
  • Maintains exam room for necessary supplies and materials.
  • Performs daily and weekly environmental cleaning and equipment quality control and maintenance.
  • Cleans and sterilizes medical equipment according to policy.
  • Follows correct procedures for handling and disposing of bio-hazardous infectious waste.
  • Provided back-up help for front desk personnel. This may include answering telephone, scheduling and cancelling appointments, and scheduling consult patients.

Requirements

The individual must be able to work the hours specified. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Medical Technologists (AMT), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

Skills

The ideal candidate should have the following skills:

  • Knowledge of the principles of growth and development.
  • Ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status.
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.
