Registered Nurse (RN) - OR General Surgery

About the role

The RN Circulator provides direct nursing care during surgical procedures, adhering to established policies and promoting patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and age-related needs to deliver personalized care
• Review documentation, prepare the operating room, check and troubleshoot equipment, and maintain sterilization standards
• Position and prepare patients, monitor vital signs, and assist surgeons with instruments
• Communicate effectively with patients, team members, and physicians to ensure seamless care

Qualifications

• Valid RN license from the Connecticut Department of Public Health
• Associate degree (BSN preferred)
• BLS certification within two months
• At least two years of OR nursing experience

• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, patient safety, and surgical procedures
