About the role

As a Registered Nurse (RN) OR Circulator at Ashley Regional Medical Center, you will provide comprehensive peri‑operative care, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, patient monitoring, and coordination of multidisciplinary support. You will advocate for patients’ physical and emotional well‑being, ensure proper preparation of the operating room, and maintain effective communication with physicians, patients, and families throughout surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Positions and prepares patients for procedures, assesses and monitors them during procedures, accounts for all supplies, and communicates effectively with the physician throughout.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
• Evaluates learning needs of patients and families and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Acts as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
• Prepares and cleans OR suites, handles and maintains equipment and supplies, sets up sterile supplies, and ensures patients are in the surgical suite on time.
• Required to take call.

Requirements

• Current Utah state RN license or Compact License with Utah endorsement.
• Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school (BSN preferred).
• BCLS certification upon completion of hospital orientation; ACLS and PALS certifications required within six months of hire or transfer.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to thrive in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• One year of prior nursing experience preferred.
