About the Role

As a day shift, PRN Surgery (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) in Tulsa, OK, you will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document care activities in accordance with BMC and AORN standards to deliver efficient, effective, and quality patient care. You will demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan, interpret patient data, and tailor care to age-specific needs. The role includes developing, modifying, and implementing patient care plans, adhering to the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act, and supervising surgical technologists. You may delegate appropriate nursing tasks to other staff based on patient needs and staff qualifications. Willingness to take call on a rotational basis and demonstrate teamwork and flexibility is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care activities in accordance with BMC and AORN standards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span to provide age-appropriate care.
  • Interpret patient data and identify requirements relative to age-specific needs.
  • Develop, modify, and implement patient care plans in alignment with BMC standards.
  • Adhere to the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Supervise surgical technologists in the operating room setting.
  • Delegate appropriate nursing tasks to other staff members based on patient needs and staff qualifications.
  • Take call on a rotational basis and demonstrate teamwork and flexibility.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Oklahoma.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (required within six months of hire or upon signing a revised job description).

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an operating room environment.
  • CNOR certification.
