Registered Nurse (RN), Operating Room

Location: Morris Cancer Center, 165 Somerset Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08901

Status: Full-Time, Hourly • Shift: Day (Monday – Friday 7am-3:30pm with required On Call Weekends & Holidays)

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions.
• Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety.
• Contribute your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care.
• Take an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes.

Requirements

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required or actively enrolled in a BSN program with an expected completion date.
• Two to three years of experience as an Operating Room RN.
• Comfortable with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC.

Pay

The anticipated hourly wage range for this position is $49.03 - $72.39 per hour. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
