Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology - Day
Newark, DE – ChristianaCare Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 6E Oncology Unit. As an oncology nurse, you will implement a relationship-based care model that focuses on building strong connections with patients, families, and colleagues, guided by our core values of love and excellence.
About the role
Unit 6E is a 38-bed inpatient unit specializing in hematology and oncology, providing both scheduled and emergency care and procedures 24/7. This unit accommodates patients who require inpatient care for cancer diagnoses, chemotherapy administration, and medical management of conditions such as febrile neutropenia, uncontrolled pain, and nausea/vomiting. The patient population includes adult and geriatric patients with stable or serious conditions, admitted from homes, the emergency department, physicians' offices, or other hospital units.
Requirements
- Active DE RN License or a Compact RN License
- BSN or commitment to obtain BSN within three years of hire date
- BLS certification required
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) unit within a hospital setting
- Oncology certification preferred
Schedule
- Full-time day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Weekend and holiday requirements per departmental guidelines
Pay
Hourly pay range: $41.28 – $66.05. The actual salary offered will depend on individual factors such as skills, relevant experience, and qualifications. Eligible candidates may receive a $10,000 sign-on bonus, paid over 12 months.
