Responsible for
- Delivers patient care in accordance with ANA Scope and Standards of Care and Practice, Patient Bill of Rights, and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
- Delivers patient care in accordance with specialty-specific standards (e.g., Oncology Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses) as appropriate.
- Affirms patient plan of care based on changing health care needs.
- Evaluates patient teaching using appropriate education resources and assesses the effectiveness of the teaching.
- Models effective leadership skills through role modeling, mentoring, and effective communication.
- Directly delegates and supervises ancillary staff (LPN’s, PCA’s, Tech’s, Unit Secretaries, etc.), being knowledgeable of the NJ Scope of Practice guidelines.
- Supports a professional practice environment by functioning as a role model and resource person, and participating in the orientation of new employees.
- Participates in unit-based and organization-wide activities, committees, and community activities as appropriate.
- Identifies own learning needs with respect to nursing practice and pursues educational support to meet these needs.
- Routinely utilizes Evidence-Based Practice literature, policy, and procedure manuals to ensure consistency and accuracy in the delivery of care.
- Participates actively in the Performance Improvement process to evaluate the quality of nursing care delivered to patients.
Education Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience Qualifications
- Minimum one-year current clinical experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Excellent clinical assessment skills, communication skills, and time management skills.
Licenses and Certifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required upon hire.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support BLS through American Heart Association required upon hire.
- National certification related to specialty area may be required dependent on specialty area.
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support may be required dependent on specialty area.
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support may be required dependent on specialty area.
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation may be required dependent on specialty area.

$44.00/hour - $55.00/hour
