Registered Nurse (RN) Nursery/Postpartum

About the role

The LDRP at Sentara Martha Jefferson offers state-of-the-art care in a personalized setting. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, managing complex cases, and providing care in both Labor and Delivery and Post Partum/Mother Baby units.

Responsibilities

• Cross-train to the Specialty Care Nursery
• Offer post-operative care for complex GYN and Breast surgical needs
• Work in a 12-hour shift schedule with rotating weekends and holidays
• Manage complex cases in a high-stress environment
• Communicate effectively with patients and providers
• Participate in ongoing education and training

Requirements

• Preferred experience in Post Partum and Mother Baby
• Experience in Labor and Delivery
• BSN or MSN degree preferred
• Current Registered Nursing license
• Women's Care - Perinatal department certification within 6 months of hire
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
• Experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or similar setting

Qualifications

• 2 years of acute care registered nurse experience preferred
• Strong understanding of patient safety protocols
• Experience with electronic fetal monitoring
• Experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or similar setting

Pay

Sign-on bonus up to $10,000 available for qualified candidates.

Schedule

Two 12-hour shifts per week with every 3rd weekend rotation on Saturday and Sunday. The required call is 16-24 hours per 6-week schedule.
