Registered Nurse (RN) Nursery

Full-time night shift position with a $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible applicants.

Schedule

• 3x12-hour shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekends

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Document patient care provided.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
• Evaluate and address the learning needs of patients and families, providing education tailored to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Act as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Requirements

• Current Tennessee or compact state RN license.
• Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school (BSN preferred).
• Certifications:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire or placement in position.
  • NRP within 3 months of hire.
  • STABLE certification within 3 months of hire.
  • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring within 1 year in position (preferred).
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• One or more years of recent L&D, Postpartum, and Newborn Nursery experience preferred.

Highpoint Health - Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is a 157-bed facility offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including:

• 131 licensed acute care beds and 26 skilled nursing home beds.
• 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
• 12-bed Geriatric Psychiatry Unit.
• 12-bed Acute Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit.
• Skilled Nursing Unit, Sleep Lab, and Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
