Registered Nurse (RN) - Nights

About the role

Haven Behavioral Hospital of West Chester is a 72-bed facility offering specialized behavioral health services. The position involves night shift work from 7p-7a, with a bi-weekly schedule including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assumes primary leadership in milieu management and directs patient care activities.
• Maintains standards of professional nursing practice and implements interventions based on the nursing process.
• Administers medications safely and educates patients on prescribed medications.
• Evaluates interventions and ensures patient safety and well-being.
• Reviews and updates medical records, transcribes and implements physician's orders, and documents care accurately.
• Communicates patient needs and responsibilities to staff and follows up on care assignments.
• Floats among various clinical services and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing.
• One year of inpatient hospital experience preferred.
• Ability to adapt to a high-stress environment and assess patient risks.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with a sensitivity to diverse populations.
• Self-confidence and ability to lead and direct others.
• CPR certification and completion of an Oceans-approved behavioral health de-escalation program.

• Bi-weekly schedule: Week 1 = 3-12s / Week 2 = 4-12s with every other weekend rotation
