About the Role

This role provides direct clinical patient care. The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, and implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per-shift basis and at the unit level. The RN supervises staff to whom appropriate care is delegated and supports the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to ensure high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and resource management related to patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients
  • Assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process
  • Directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement (QI), and infection control, aiming for optimal patient discharge care
  • Coordinates and plans patient care within the prescribed medical regime
  • Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy
  • Performs and fulfills all HICS (Hospital Incident Command System) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed during emergencies and/or disasters
  • Knows the hospital’s emergency codes, including their purpose and appropriate actions, and adheres to hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code

Requirements

  • Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as a Registered Nurse as required by law, regulation, or policy in the state of practice
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • If applicable by corporate policy for the unit of hire: AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
    • Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing
  • Experience:
    • Required: Minimum of 1 year of RN experience for PRN status
    • Preferred: Recent acute care experience

Schedule

Full-time, night shift.
