About the Role
Per Diem, Days position providing nursing care for a group of patients assigned based on matching patient needs with nurse competencies. Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum Experience: None
- Preferred Experience: Two years in acute care; previous clinical nursing experience in med/surg, telemetry, or ICU
- Required Certifications/Licensure: Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
Required Courses/Completions
- Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) on hire (ARC or AHA); must obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
- AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (Adult Critical Care, Telemetry, Interim Critical Care Units) – should be completed before the end of orientation
- AHA PALS within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (Pediatric ICU) – should be completed before the end of orientation
- AHA NRP within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (NICU)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. for NICU (Level 2 Nursery) – proof of prior completion or obtain within 6 months of hire/transfer (renewal not required)
