About the role
Banner Children's Hospital at Desert NICU is a 76- bed unit with an open pod layout for ICU patients and private rooms for CCN patients. The unit is staffed with a diverse team including neonatologists, nutritionists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and lactation consultants.
Responsibilities
- Affectionately assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and revise the plan of care based on patient needs and feedback.
- Delegate tasks to other licensed nurses and healthcare team members as appropriate.
- Evaluate patient progress and effectiveness of teaching, making adjustments as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with other healthcare providers and maintain accurate documentation.
- Participate in shared leadership initiatives and contribute to improving patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Current RN license in state of practice or compact RN licensure.
- BLS certification.
- One year experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to handle stress and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of neonatal care practices and protocols.

Pay
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Schedule
- Night shift from 7PM to 7:30AM.
- 18% night shift differential and $3/hour weekend shift differential.
