Registered Nurse RN NICU

About the role

Banner Children's Hospital at Desert NICU is a 76- bed unit with an open pod layout for ICU patients and private rooms for CCN patients. The unit is staffed with a diverse team including neonatologists, nutritionists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and lactation consultants.

Responsibilities

• Affectionately assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and revise the plan of care based on patient needs and feedback.
• Delegate tasks to other licensed nurses and healthcare team members as appropriate.
• Evaluate patient progress and effectiveness of teaching, making adjustments as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with other healthcare providers and maintain accurate documentation.
• Participate in shared leadership initiatives and contribute to improving patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Current RN license in state of practice or compact RN licensure.
• BLS certification.
• One year experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Skills

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to handle stress and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of neonatal care practices and protocols.

Pay

Schedule

• Night shift from 7PM to 7:30AM.
• 18% night shift differential and $3/hour weekend shift differential.
