About the role
The Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit is a state-of-the-art, 24-bed facility dedicated to the treatment of patients recovering from complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions, as well as those requiring post-operative neurosurgical care. Recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center Certified and ranked in the top 10% in the country for Neurology & Neurosurgery and Stroke care by U.S. News & World Report, the unit provides continuous, comprehensive care through a patient-centered approach that emphasizes teamwork, compassion, innovation, education, and research.
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Use evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
- Operate diverse ICU equipment, including tubes, lines, drains, invasive hemodynamic monitoring devices, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
- Perform specialized interventions such as management of EVD and SEPS drains, post-thrombolytic care, and post-interventional radiology care.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
