Pay

Starting wage: $40.60 – $55.82 per hour. Offers for external candidates are generally made between the minimum and ¾ point of the range, based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited professional nursing program
  • Current Minnesota Registered Nurse license
  • BLS certification; ACLS certification within 90 days of hire
  • One to three years of nursing experience preferred
  • Special Care Unit only: PALS certification within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Perform a comprehensive assessment of patient health status through data collection, analysis, and synthesis to establish a baseline and plan of care; address changes in patient condition.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and coordinate an integrated plan of care.
  • Develop and implement nursing interventions within the plan of care.
  • Execute independent nursing actions and implement interventions delegated, ordered, or prescribed by a licensed healthcare provider.
  • Delegate nursing tasks or activities to implement the plan of care.
  • Provide safe and effective nursing care and promote a safe, therapeutic environment.
  • Advocate for the best interests of individual patients.
  • Evaluate responses to interventions and the effectiveness of the plan of care.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals in managing and implementing care within and across settings and communities.
  • Provide health promotion, disease prevention, care coordination, and case finding.
  • Design and implement patient teaching plans based on need and evaluate teaching effectiveness.
  • Participate in the development of healthcare policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Account for the quality of care delivered, recognizing limits of knowledge and experience; address situations beyond competency.
  • Manage, supervise, and evaluate the practice of nursing.
  • Maintain OMC Organization Competencies and Nursing Competencies pertinent to area of practice.
  • Manage information in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Communicate effectively.
