Overview

Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse to work at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk on their Medical Procedures Unit. This unit will handle a mix of medical, surgical, and intermediate care patients. Candidates preferred to have IMCU experience or at least two years of acute med/surg RN experience.

Department/Position Overview

This 8-bed unit will treat a mix of medical, surgical, and intermediate care patients. The RN to patient ratio is 4 to 1 with a Patient Care Technician. The IMCU patients will not include those with Bipap, Epidural catheters, Dofetilide and Sotalol Initiation, ventilators, thoracic patients (chest tubes), and post cardiac cath patients. As a Registered Nurse with Sentara, you can excel in your career with various specialties and potential for leadership roles.

Minimum Requirements

  • Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • RN-Diploma, ASN, BSN, or MSN from an accredited school

Department Information

Located in Norfolk, VA, Sentara Leigh Hospital is a 274-bed acute care facility. It includes a dedicated Orthopedic Hospital and a 24-hour hyperbaric oxygen program. The hospital is accredited as a Primary Stroke Center and Magnet hospital for nursing excellence.
