Registered Nurse (RN) / Med Surg
Location: St. Vincent’s Medical Center (Bridgeport, CT). Shift: Every other weekend (Friday and Saturday night) and every other holiday required.

Responsibilities
- Implements and monitors patient care plans
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition
- Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders
- Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills to assess patients and identify physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and age-related needs for individualized care
- Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel consistent with their education and expertise
- Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds
- Provides appropriate input to meet desired patient outcomes
- Develops, implements, and revises individualized plans of care
- Participates in activities for professional growth and development outside of patient care
- Reflects ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice (2015), ANA Code of Ethics (2015), and ANA Social Policy Statement (2015)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school
- Associate degree required; BSN preferred
- Current Connecticut RN license
- BLS certification by the American Heart Association
- Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills
