Registered Nurse (RN) | Long Term Care
Avera Brady Health and Rehab is seeking a Regular Night Shift Worker.
About the role
This position offers a competitive pay range of $32.50 - $48.50 per hour, with a potential $10,000 sign-on bonus. The shift is 6:00pm-6:30am, 72 hours every two weeks, with a $3 shift differential for hours worked between 7p and 7a, $2 on weekends, and $5 on weekend nights. Additionally, the position is eligible for Avera’s Student Loan Repayment Program, offering up to $10,000 in monthly payments to help reduce loan balances.
Responsibilities
- Reviews physician prescriptions and communicates the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the health care team.
- Coordinates with other healthcare providers and provides physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, families, and friends.
- Confers with physicians to understand residents' conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
- Instructs residents, families, and friends to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answers questions; provides information and resources.
- Evaluates resident's care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measures health outcomes against resident care standards; reviews resident's records; notes changing conditions and needs; re-evaluates care objectives; modifies nursing care plan.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy resident care environment by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations; adheres to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerts others regarding potential concerns.
- Keeps resident care equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; troubleshoots breakdowns; maintains supplies; performs preventive maintenance; calls for repairs.
- Keeps resident care supplies ready by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; stocking items.
- Coordinates admissions, discharges, and transfers to and from the facility.
- Directs, plans, and coordinates workflow of nursing assistants and other nursing personnel.
- Maintains competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership.
Requirements
The individual must be able to work the hours specified. Must have a registered nurse (RN) board of nursing license in the state of practice. 1-3 years of experience working in a clinical or long-term care environment is preferred.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.
Skills
Must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment, coordinate work flow with other team members, and ensure a productive and efficient environment. Must comply with safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards associated with, but not limited to, CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, and OSHA if applicable.
