About the role
Join the team at West River Mental Health, a premier provider of mental health care in Western South Dakota since 1948. We are currently accepting applications for an RN/LPN/CMA position. These roles coordinate medical treatment, rehabilitation, and support services for identified clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide case management services by participating in medical treatment planning and monitoring progress towards goals and objectives.
- Aid in locating, coordinating, and monitoring medical, social, and psychiatric services.
- Document and notify staff of changes in client’s status.
- Provide emergency services during crises.
- Assess and manage symptoms when clinically appropriate.
- Administer and instruct clients on the proper use of prescription and nonprescription medication.
- Train staff in CPR, first aid, medication management, and infection control.
- Create, maintain, and monitor procedures and practices for administering and storing medications.
- Document client activity in the chart as required by company policy.
- Support clients in obtaining basic necessities, performing daily living activities, and developing social skills.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of medical protocols related to mental illness.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Computer keyboard proficiency for typing.
- Skills in administering CPR, first aid, and medication management.
- Ability to navigate various building types, including court systems and client homes.
- Professional interaction with clients and customers.
- Sit for extended periods while typing on a computer keyboard.
- Valid South Dakota driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
Qualifications
- RN, LPN, or Paramedic Certification in the State of South Dakota.
Skills
