About the role
The IV Infusion Unit is a hospital-based clinical area focused on the safe administration and monitoring of intravenous therapies, including medications, fluids, and blood products. Staffed by skilled nurses, the unit supports both acute and outpatient care, emphasizing patient safety, infection prevention, and accurate treatment delivery. The team collaborates closely with providers to ensure effective, patient-centered care for a diverse population requiring infusion services.
Located in the heart of West Allis, Wisconsin – just 15 minutes from anywhere in metro Milwaukee – Aurora West Allis Medical Center provides convenience, quality, and comfort. The facility is home to the Aurora Women’s Pavilion and has been recognized for services including cancer care, gastroenterology, geriatrics, gynecology, neurology, pulmonology, and urology.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS and PALS required by completion of orientation
- 1-2 years of nursing experience in Med Surg, ED, or Peri-Op
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
- Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and skilled communication to lead efforts in creating the safest patient environment and the best patient experience
