Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) - Full-Time - Nights

About the role

Work location: Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway, Bedford, TX 76022. The position is in the 18‑bed Medical‑Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) that also specializes in trauma and neurosurgical patient care. The unit is fast‑paced and high‑acuity, with 24/7 intensivist coverage providing pulmonary critical care oversight. Nurses are expected to recognize and understand patient affiliations (cultural, spiritual, etc.) as part of patient‑centered care. Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age‑specific safety and infection control measures into patient care
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others’ need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter‑shift, inter‑hospital, and while expediting out‑of‑hospital transfers

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
• Active RN license (Registered Nurse) required upon hire
• Compliance with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (CLIAFE)
• BCLS certification prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• ACLS certification within 90 days of hire
• NIHSS certification within 6
