Registered Nurse (RN), Infusion PRN
About the role
Join a compassionate Oncology team where nursing is more than a job—it's a meaningful partnership with patients throughout their cancer journey. You'll provide specialized care through chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration, patient education, telephone triage, and comprehensive assessments while collaborating closely with providers, navigators, case managers, social workers, radiation oncology, and palliative care teams.
Responsibilities
- Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and related medical care.
- Documents care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
- Maintains patient condition documentation and communicates with the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
- Affords assistance with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
- Displays initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building to support departments and staff.
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
- Assesses learning needs; provides age- and culture-appropriate patient/family education.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
- Participates in performance improvement and required education; works other shifts/units as needed and may take on-call assignments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).
Additional Requirements Include:
- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/Chemo (within 1 year)
