Registered Nurse / RN - ICU - Full Time - Nights
About the Role
Join the 18-bed Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Texas Health HEB, specializing in Trauma and Neurosurgical patient care. Responsibilities
- Deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process:
- Assess the patient
- Plan the care of the patient
- Intervene as appropriate
- Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiate action to meet patient and/or significant others' need for information.
- Maintain continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers.
- Demonstrate recognition and understanding of patient's affiliations.
- Contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care through nursing education, research, and innovations in nursing practice.
Requirements
- Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
- RN - Registered Nurse license upon hire.
- CLIA FE (Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency).
- BCLS certification prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
- ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- NIHSS certification within 60 days of hire.
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire.
- 1 year of experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.
- Current ICU experience strongly preferred.

Pay
Full-time, night shift position with a schedule of 36 hours weekly, working three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.
