Registered Nurse / RN - ICU - Full Time - Nights

Join the 18-bed Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Texas Health HEB, specializing in Trauma and Neurosurgical patient care. Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process:
  • Assess the patient
  • Plan the care of the patient
  • Intervene as appropriate
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiate action to meet patient and/or significant others' need for information.
• Maintain continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers.
• Demonstrate recognition and understanding of patient's affiliations.
• Contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care through nursing education, research, and innovations in nursing practice.

Requirements

• Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• RN - Registered Nurse license upon hire.
• CLIA FE (Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency).
• BCLS certification prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• NIHSS certification within 60 days of hire.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.
• Current ICU experience strongly preferred.

Pay

Full-time, night shift position with a schedule of 36 hours weekly, working three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.
