About the role

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. The Registered Nurse provides direct clinical patient care, assuming responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating care for assigned patients on a per-shift basis and at the unit level. The role includes supervision of staff to whom appropriate care is delegated and accountability to support the Chief Nursing Officer in ensuring high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients.
  • Assume responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
  • Direct care according to established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control, with the goal of discharging the patient with an optimum level of care.
  • Coordinate and plan patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
  • Administer all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
  • Perform and fulfill all Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed during emergencies and/or disasters.
  • Know the hospital’s emergency codes, including their purpose and appropriate actions, and adhere to hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
    • Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Experience: Preferred: Recent acute care experience.
  • Certifications:
    • Required: Current license, certification, or registration to practice as required by law or regulation in the state of practice; AHA BLS.
    • If applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire: AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP.
