About the role
The newly remodeled 2B Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Banner Estrella Medical Center (BEMC) is a Level 4 Trauma Center serving Southwest Phoenix and surrounding areas. It is comprised of 24 beds and cares for high acuity patients including post-Open-Heart Surgery, OR, Cath lab, and IR patients. Additionally, it handles Acute Neurological/Stroke, Medical/Renal, and Pulmonary patients.
Responsibilities
- Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards.
- Plans and coordinates care for patients, including the discharge plan, based on assessment data and patient/family input.
- Delegates tasks to other licensed nurses and other personnel, supervising their work.
- Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes, and revises the plan of care as needed.
- Communicates effectively with other healthcare providers and maintains accurate documentation in the patient record.
- Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
- Participates in research activities and contributes to improving patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care.
Requirements
- Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
- BLS certification is required.
- One year experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred, with working experience in the last 12 months in the specialty area.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Professional certification preferred.

Schedule
The role is a full-time Day shift, working 3-12-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm.
