About the Role

The Hospice RN is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing hospice care for Eventide Hospice's senior clients.

Responsibilities

• Completes an initial and ongoing comprehensive assessment of seniors and families to determine hospice needs.
• Performs a complete physical assessment and medical history.
• Utilizes the nursing process to provide professional nursing care, including writing and initiating a plan of care, evaluating senior/client status, and administering medications and treatments.
• Assists seniors with activities of daily living and provides comfort care.
• Acts as a case manager when assigned by the Patient Care Coordinator, coordinating care for assigned caseloads.
• Documents clinical notes and communicates with physicians regarding senior/client needs and conditions.

Requirements

• Age 18 or older.
• Successful completion of a Registered Nurse course of study; bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Two years of acute care/long-term care nursing experience within the last five years, with preference for experience in community health and/or hospice.
• RN license in good standing from the Nebraska State Registry or another Nurse Compact state required.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid Nebraska Driver’s license and a good driving record required.
• Must meet Eventide’s vaccination requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Nebraska Driver’s license (unless otherwise allowed by law).
• Must maintain auto insurance at or above Nebraska statutory requirements.
• Must meet Eventide’s vaccination requirements.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
• Knowledge of hospice care practices and regulations.
• Proficiency in healthcare software and documentation systems.
