About the role

The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a specific nursing department. The role involves providing clinical leadership, ensuring continuity of care, and aligning with organizational goals and policies.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and review diagnostic data relevant to patient conditions.
• Collaborate with leadership and other disciplines to identify improvements and implement change.
• Provide guidance during life-threatening situations and evaluate intervention outcomes.
• Implement innovative processes to enhance patient outcomes.
• Participate in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, mentoring, staffing, and performance evaluations.
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving healthcare delivery.
• Communicate effectively with team members to provide quality patient care.
• Support ongoing learning and professional development.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and skills

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a related unit or specialty area.
• Computer literacy.
• Valid RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS preferred.
