Registered Nurse (RN/GN) - Surgical (FT, Nights)

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy service standards.

Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse Resident

Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO | Department: 5H Surgical | Status: Full-Time - 36 hours/week | Shift: 12 Hour (Nights 1900-0730)

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care utilizing the nursing process
• Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients
• Evaluate effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers
• Coordinate patient care with other departments
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
• Perform duties consistent with Mercy’s mission and values

Requirements

• Graduated from a school of nursing (BSN, Associate's Degree, or Diploma Program)
• Current Missouri RN license or compact licensure (must meet state board requirements)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or completion within 30 days of hire)
• Other unit-specific certifications as required
• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking each shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
