About the Role
3NW General Medicine is a 34-bed unit serving a diverse patient population, including heart failure, GI bleed, COPD exacerbation, psych, infection, falls, chest pain, and detox. The role involves a variety of clinical skills such as trach care, dressing changes, chest tube management, central line management, phlebotomy, and pleurex catheter management.
Loyola University Medical Center, located approximately 30 minutes from Downtown Chicago, focuses on treating the whole person—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This is a team-oriented unit that provides opportunities to manage a wide range of diagnoses and advance nursing skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional care to patients in a general medicine unit.
- Perform clinical skills including trach care, dressing changes, chest tube management, central line management, phlebotomy, and pleurex catheter management.
- Manage a diverse patient population with conditions such as heart failure, GI bleed, COPD exacerbation, psych, infection, falls, chest pain, and detox.
- Collaborate with a supportive, team-oriented unit focused on career growth and skill advancement.
Requirements
- A degree from an accredited school/college of nursing (BSN or ADN).
- BLS Provider certification (accredited by the American Heart Association) required prior to hire.
- Illinois Board of Nursing license prior to hire.
- Experience in Med Surg / Telemetry preferred.

Pay
- BSN Pay Range: $34.76 - $59.92 per hour.
- ADN Pay Range: $32.90 - $57.06 per hour.
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
