Registered Nurse (RN), Gastroenterology

About the role

Provides professional care and assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. Provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with other health care team members.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessments in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychological & cognitive status.
• Formulates a goal directed plan of care which is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnosis & patient outcomes.
• Implements care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent and continuous manner.
• Establishes priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs and available resources.
• Evaluates effectiveness of care given and patient progression toward outcomes.
• Identifies patient's/significant other's learning needs and implements appropriate measures to meet them.
• Captures and documents patient care activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Captures and documents patient care activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Coordinates interdisciplinary functions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• State of CT RN license;
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification;
• American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification;
• Endoscopy or GI experience preferred;
• Call required;
• Floats between Gastroenterology DMAC and Danbury Hospital Gastroenterology.

Qualifications

• Control hours: 20
• Shift: Monday to Friday; two 10-hour shifts between the hours of 7:00 am and 7:00 pm (Flex starting time).
• Evening, Weekend and Holiday on call required.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records systems.
• Knowledge of endoscopy and gastrointestinal procedures.

Pay

$46.30 - $67.77 hourly
