Registered Nurse (RN) | Full Time | Nights - Behavioral Health

Job Description

The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse who assists patients in attaining, maintaining, and restoring health. The role adheres to the MS Nurse Practice Act, ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an NLN School of Nursing
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Mississippi
• All RNs are required to complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer
• RNs working in certain specialty areas are required to complete and maintain specific certifications
• A minimum of one (1) year of inpatient clinical experience, preferred
• Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation

Experience

• Minimum of one (1) year of inpatient clinical experience, preferred
• Experience must be within the past five (5) years, or evidence of successful refresher program

Physical Demands

• Moderately active work involving sitting with frequent movement
• Erect force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
• Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers while operating standard office equipment
• Close visual and acuity needed for daily work activities
• Extended periods of activity without undue fatigue
• Ability to work various schedules as assigned

• Keen mental faculties and assessment and decision-making abilities
• Superior communication and speaking/enunciation skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
