About the Role
This position involves assessing residents' health, educational, and environmental needs, developing and updating individualized care plans, and ensuring safe, timely nursing interventions. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, communicates effectively with residents and families, and documents all assessments and care activities accurately. Critical thinking is essential for monitoring changes in residents' conditions, responding to crises, and addressing issues using quality improvement processes. The role includes assisting with direct resident care, completing required training, and maintaining current nursing practices.
Responsibilities
- Assess residents' health and environmental needs upon admission and regularly thereafter
- Develop, revise, and communicate care plans with the interdisciplinary team
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV fluids safely and accurately
- Monitor residents' conditions, recognize changes, and notify physicians promptly
- Respond to emergencies and crises professionally and calmly
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current on nursing practices
- Support residents with activities of daily living and respond to call lights
Requirements
- Registered nurse license from an accredited program and current in the state of employment
- CPR/AED certification (or willing to obtain within six months)
- Critical thinking, strong communication, and organizational skills
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and transfer residents safely
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity for documentation and equipment use
