Responsibilities

• Provide patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the MS Nurse Practice Act, ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, accreditation standards, CDC Guidelines for Infection Control, and SRHS Departments of Nursing Plan for Provision of Care, Treatment, and Services.
• Participate in the Singing River Nurse Residency Program if a new RN graduate or RN in the first year of practice.
• Supervise LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and Unit Technicians.
• Maintain collaborative and respectful working relationships throughout SRHS and with other organizations.
• Complete required de‑escalation training within 90 days of orientation.
• Adhere to assigned work schedules, understanding that changes may be made according to hospital needs.

Requirements

• Education: Graduate from an NLN‑accredited School of Nursing.
• License: Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Mississippi.
• Certifications: BCLS required upon hire/transfer; specialty‑specific certifications as follows (must be obtained within 12 months of working in the specialty, 18 months for TNCC in Emergency Department):
  • Cath Lab – ACLS
  • Cardiac Rehab – ACLS
  • Congestive Heart Failure – ACLS
  • Cardiovascular Surgery – ACLS
  • Emergency Department – ACLS, PALS, TNCC
  • Intensive Care Units – ACLS
  • Labor & Delivery – ACLS, NRP
  • Medical Nursing – OB/GYN – PALS
  • Nursery – NRP
  • Pediatrics – PALS
  • PACU/Recovery – ACLS, PALS
• Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of inpatient clinical experience preferred; experience must be within the past five (5) years or evidence of successful refresher program.
• Physical Demands: Moderately active work involving sitting, frequent movement, lifting/carrying negligible forces, exposure to body fluids, repetitive wrist/hand motions, adequate hearing and vision, ability to remain active for extended periods.
• Mental Demands: Keen assessment and decision‑making, superior communication skills, emotional stability, ability to work under pressure, attention to detail, multitasking, and maintaining collaborative relationships.

Schedule

Shift: 7 AM – 7 PM. Location: Singing River Pascagoula Hospital.
