Job Summary
Day Kimball Health is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse to join our Homecare department in Thompson, CT.
Hours: 40 per week
Shift: Days
Schedule: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Weekends: Every third
This position is eligible for a $10,000 sign on bonus!
Benefits Summary

Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide direct care for patients who require intensive monitoring and interventions.
- Accountable for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients in our Intensive Care Unit.
- Affairs the health status of patients/families by means of comprehensive health history and physical examination.
- Initiates selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, consultations, and laboratory examination, interprets findings, and alters plan of care according to collaborative practice agreement and protocols in designated area.
- Edicates and counsels in the areas of health promotion, maintenance, disease prevention, and management of acute/chronic illnesses.
- Documents findings and plan of care in the patient's medical record.
- Consults with physician per established Day Kimball Hospital policy.
- Intervenes to provide a safe environment and evaluates effectiveness of intervention for patients.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of Connecticut is required.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent is required; if not currently certified, must obtain within three (3) months of employment.
- Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to recognize unsafe and life-threatening situations and how to intervene appropriately.
- Demonstrated skills in critical thinking, effective communication, organizational skills, problem solving, and ability to make appropriate independent decisions.
- Working knowledge of applicable Standards of Practice.
- Demonstrated compassionate customer service and ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues.
- Solid foundation in evaluating plans of care and reformulating as necessary.
